All people attending the 19th National N Scale Convention, or any of the associated programs, are required to abide by, and agree to, this Code of Conduct.
At all times people attending the 19th National N Scale Convention or any of the associated programs (referred to as Convention in the remainder of this page) are to act in a manner that is neither prejudicial to the interests of the Convention or detrimental to the best interests of the hobby.
All people attending the Convention are expected to always behave reasonably towards all other people. This will include: –
- At no time will any person discriminate against anyone on the grounds of age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or disability.
- No person shall be rude or insulting to anyone else, be intoxicated, or violent on any premises where the Convention or its associated activities are being held. When the location is external to buildings where the Convention is being held, this clause is extended to apply to all members of the public you may have contact with.
- No person will engage in any activity that may cause, or actually causes, physical or mental harm to another person (such as verbal abuse, physical abuse, assault, sexual or racial harassment, or bullying)
If disagreements occur, the proper focus of any conflict should be on the issue at hand and not on the individual.
- Be courteous when disagreeing with others.
- Debate and differing opinions may be appropriate.
- Personal attacks against others, are not allowed.
Any behaviour that is patently offensive is forbidden, whether specifically identified on this list or not.
In the event of a complaint being made, the Convention Committee may start an investigation if it feels appropriate and may take evidence from Convention attendees and/or third parties as necessary. The Convention Committee, or any member thereof, may start a complaint directly if they observe an attendee not acting in accordance with this Code of Conduct. The Convention Committee may then decide on what action to take. The action may include any reasonable steps to resolve the issue, including removal of the offending person from all remaining Convention activities.
